SPRINGFIELD MASSACHUSETTS MURDER DREAM

4/13/2009 (Dream) I was in a car with my wife and i took an exit that i usually don’t take, she said her and her daughter usually take it. Then i was walking and a handgun like a colt 45 with a ivory handle was on the ground. Also with that was a small black empty coin pouch and a wallet, but i didn’t look in the wallet.

The scene changed i was in a bad section of town and as i tried to cross the street a man came running up to me with a message, but i don’t remember what he said. I knew this area was bad as i was walking along the road i was off the road some 5 feet in a small patch of woods along a chain link fence. I could see water to my right a little way off.

Then a small car went almost in slow motion by me with 2 men in the front seat. I saw a good look at them especially the Hispanic man sitting in the passenger seat as he looked at me with the handgun up. Immediately I thought he was going to kill me. I wanted to turn around to get the plate # but was scared to look back after he saw me as i really felt i was going to die.

4/14/2009 I would read a online report of a murder and the town that it took place in as I am familiar with. In my dream it showed the same lay out of the road, the area of woods and the chain link fence to my right and the water inside the fence area. The body was found riddled with bullets and was found a few days earlier.

Body pulled from canal in Springfield

** NOTE UP UNTIL THIS POINT OF THE ARTICLE I DID NOT HEAR OF THIS BODY BEING FOUND.**

SPRINGFIELD – A worker clearing brush along a canal in Indian Orchard just before noon Thursday discovered a body floating face down in the water, said Springfield Police Sgt. John M. Delaney, aide to Commissioner William J. Fitchet .

Detectives are trying to establish the man’s identity and how he died, Delaney said. There does not appear to be foul play, he said. The police were called to the area near 34 Front St. for a report of a man in the water.

Firefighters were called to the scene to help remove the body.

It was not clear how long the body had been in the water, he said.

Delaney said police could not determine an approximate age or other physical characteristics, and were were waiting for a report from the state Medical Examiner’s Office.

Springfield homicide victim identified as Ruben Ortiz, known Latin King member

The body of Ruben Ortiz, 31, was found floating in the Front Street Canal in Springfield on April 13, 2009.  He had been shot several times.

SPRINGFIELD – Springfield police released the identity Monday of a 31-year-old homicide victim whose body was found floating in the Front Street Canal Thursday.

Ruben Ortiz, whose last known address was 91 Malden St., had a long history with Springfield police and was known member of the Latin Kings gang, according to Sgt. John M. Delaney, aide to Police Commissioner William J. Fitchet.

The death is the fifth homicide in Springfield this year.

An autopsy on the badly decomposed body showed that Ortiz suffered seven gunshot wounds to the torso, back, leg and foot, Delaney said. The cause of death has been ruled a homicide.

There is no evidence the slaying is indicative of rising tension or conflict within the Latin Kings or between rival gangs, Delaney said.

“Our intelligence tells us ‘no,'” Delaney said.

It’s possible, Delaney said, the homicide was the result of a drug deal gone bad. Ortiz had a small amount of marijuana and $55 cash in his possession so robbery does not appear to be a motive, he said.

It is not yet known how long the body was in the Indian Orchard canal and the Hampden County Medical Examiner’s Office was to continue the autopsy Monday, Delaney said.

The body, Delaney said, could have been in the canal for several weeks or more. Although family members lived in the area, no missing person report had been filed because of his disappearance, he said.

Homicide detectives were able to identify the body through a fingerprint and tattoos, Delaney said. Detectives, under the direction of Capt. Robert T. McFarlin, worked throughout the weekend on the case

Ortiz was arrested numerous times for selling both heroin and cocaine in various school zones and for crimes of violence, Delaney said. He has been sentenced twice since 2000 to Massachusetts correctional facilities.

Ortiz’s last arrest was in Clinton a few months ago, Delaney said.

The body was discovered by a worker for the American Energy Corp. who was in the process of cleaning the canal.

Latin Kings caught the public eye last month when two brothers, self-professed members of the street gang, were arrested for disorderly conduct near Forest Park Middle School.

Police said the two had been openly recruiting students to their gang.

Even though The area I was at in the dream was the actual area of the murder, and I saw the guy hold the gun up to me in the dream, there is no way I could ever of identified who it was?
